Argentine coach Mauro Romero was shot in the shoulder during a third-division football match in the Mendoza region. The sports newspaper "Olé" reported that organized groups of fans associated with Huracán Las Heras fought among themselves during the match. Video footage showed players from Huracán and their opponent Ferro de General Pico running for cover, while fans hid behind walls amidst the sound of gunfire in the stadium. Another video clip showed Romero being treated for his shoulder injury, and the club later stated he was taken to the hospital. Ferro tweeted: "Romero is doing well and is out of danger. After leaving the pitch, he underwent examinations at a local hospital and is now giving a statement to the police." Huracán stated that the violence is destroying the club, noting in a Facebook post: "Families have been kept away from stadiums for years. We hope that everyone who harms the club stays away so that true fans can return."
