A passenger infected with COVID-19 died during a flight to Hamburg, Germany, and the crew did not notice the man's death until after the plane landed and the passengers had disembarked. According to the Dutch news agency ANP and the Euronews website, the incident occurred last Sunday on a flight between Istanbul, Turkey, and Hamburg, Germany. The man, aged 51, was traveling alone and was seated next to a window. The German newspaper Bild reported that the passenger was fully vaccinated, which allowed him to board the plane and travel to Germany. The newspaper adds, citing a police source, that an investigation has been opened to determine the cause of death, which could be natural. While waiting for the investigation to conclude, forensic doctors who examined the man's body stated that he was infected with COVID-19, according to the same source, while German media noted that he was among the "at-risk" patients.
