Egyptian Man Shoots His Wife and Mother-in-Law, Holds Children Hostage

A violent incident occurred in the Fayoum governorate, southwest of Egypt, last night, as an individual opened fire on his wife and her mother due to a family dispute. He also held his children hostage while security forces surrounded and cordoned off his home.

In detail, residents of the village of Manshiyat Abdullah in Fayoum were startled by the sound of heavy gunfire coming from the house of one Ayman Abdel-Maboud, prompting them to alert the police.

Following investigations, it was revealed that the suspect had been in conflict with his wife when her mother visited to help resolve the issue. During this visit, he opened fire on both women, preventing them from leaving or anyone else from entering, while holding his children as hostages to deter security forces from storming the house.

However, security forces quickly surrounded the house and enforced a security cordon around it, with no news on the fate of the wife and her mother after the shooting. Additional reinforcements were dispatched to encircle the house from all directions in preparation for storming it and apprehending the suspect without harming the children.
