Biden Caught Napping During Climate Summit.. Video Captures Critical Moments

Social media erupted with mocking responses on one side and defending comments on the other regarding U.S. President Joe Biden, after a video surfaced showing him napping during the Glasgow Climate Summit activities. In the video, the American president appeared to be fighting off sleep until he succumbed for a moment, closing his eyes for a brief rest following exhausting hours of side meetings and political and environmental speeches. However, press cameras were on alert and captured those embarrassing moments, which quickly spread like wildfire. Supporters of Biden defended him, arguing that he was fatigued due to his demanding schedule, while others directed various criticisms at him.

It is noteworthy that the climate change summit works took place in Glasgow, Scotland ("COP 26") yesterday and will extend until November 12. This session includes around 25,000 participants in this 26th annual meeting of the parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The American president previously stated during the summit that the wide-ranging response needed to tackle the climate crisis should be seen as an opportunity for the world's economies. He said, "Amid the growing disaster, I see a tremendous opportunity, not just for the United States but for all of us."

Additionally, alongside formal negotiations involving over 190 countries, there are also exhibitions and discussions with thousands of representatives from businesses and NGOs participating in this global event. This year's summit convenes at a time when humanity faces a crossroads that could not be clearer. Climate change is intensifying and affecting all regions of the planet, according to a report issued in August by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Furthermore, 2021 left hundreds dead due to floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, and wildfires—events that scientists say are occurring more frequently and with greater intensity due to climate change.
