A businessman has received an 18-month prison sentence in connection with the plane crash that resulted in the death of football player Emiliano Sala. The British news agency "PA Media" reported that Sala (28) and pilot David Ibbotson (59) died when their small aircraft crashed into the English Channel in January 2019. David Henderson (67) from Hotham in East Riding of Yorkshire was found guilty of endangering the safety of the aircraft after trials at Cardiff Crown Court in October. Henderson pleaded guilty to another charge of attempting to organize a passenger flight without the necessary permissions or licenses. The flight taken by the Argentine player was organized by Henderson, who was the operator of the aircraft, in collaboration with football agent William "Willy" McKay. At that time, Sala had transferred to Cardiff City from Nantes and was traveling between the two cities when he met his tragic end.
