An Iraqi information page on Facebook shared images commemorating the incident that occurred at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. The page noted that today marks the 35th anniversary of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine on April 26, 1986, which is considered one of the most catastrophic nuclear accidents in history. The explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in 1986 released a radioactive cloud over large parts of the then Soviet Union, which now includes Belarus, Ukraine, and the Russian Federation, as well as other European countries, exposing approximately 8.4 million people to radiation.
