Artist Hani Shakir, the head of the Musicians Syndicate, confirmed that the decision to revoke the license of festival singer Hassan Shakosh is final and irreversible. During his appearance on the program ET بالعربي, he stated: "The mistake he made – I am one of those who, along with the council, decided to completely and definitively revoke his license, because the truth is we don't need this type of art in the artistic community... this strange and bizarre kind of art that we see today, we don't need Hassan Shakosh." He added: "The problem is serious and dangerous. Based on what he has done, nothing like this has happened anywhere; not just in Egypt, to go on stage and sing an immoral song, leading the audience to sing along." The Musicians Syndicate had issued a decision on September 5th, against festival singer Hassan Shakosh, to revoke his singing permit indefinitely.
