In Egypt: They Left a Message and Ended Their Lives Together

The Egyptian judiciary has begun an investigation into the case of two students from the faculties of medicine and engineering in Alexandria, who committed suicide in a hotel in the governorate last Friday under mysterious circumstances. Investigations revealed that the bodies belonged to students from the Arab Academy for Science and Technology from wealthy families. The students committed suicide while wearing only their underwear, using plastic bags for the act.

The investigations showed that they had pre-booked the room, with the medical student taking care of the booking. The following day, the engineering student arrived, and they locked the room door to prevent anyone from entering and saving them.

Additionally, the investigations indicated that the students brought a wet towel, soaked it in chlorine, and placed it inside a mask covering their breathing areas. Each wore a nylon bag over their heads, secured with motorcycle chains.

Egyptian media reported that security forces found a message left by the deceased that read: "We are fed up with our lives." A search of their phones revealed mutual messages stating: "We were not created for this life, nor do we have a place in a world filled with lies, betrayal, and deception." Upon examination of the bodies, no visible injuries were found, while the relevant authorities intensified their investigations to understand the circumstances of the incident and the reason for their presence in the hotel, despite both residing in Alexandria.
