Under the title "Death of One of the Victims of the Devil Worshippers Incident," Sky News published a report indicating that the prosecution in South Dakahlia, north of Cairo, has ordered the detention of a suspect related to a wedding ceremony that turned into a tragedy after young people organized a performance with fire extinguishers, which has been referred to in the media as a "devil worshippers' display."
According to a security source, investigations and information from eyewitnesses indicated that the bride's brother, who works as a painter, was the one who invited his friends to celebrate the transfer of his sister's dowry in this dangerous manner, resulting in the injury of two young women, one of whom died after being taken to the hospital.
The source confirmed to Sky News Arabia that the suspect was arrested and admitted to having invited his friends for the purpose of celebration, without anticipating that things would escalate to this extent. The prosecution ordered an autopsy on the deceased girl, identified as Mayada Ihab, a student at the Faculty of Arts, who suffered a skull fracture due to a fire extinguisher hitting her head.
The prosecution is waiting for the recovery of the second injured girl, Nour Walid, a second-year secondary student, to hear her statement. The prosecution has ordered the police to quickly apprehend the other suspects involved in the incident, who fled immediately after the event.
The wedding dowry transfer event in the village of Atmida in the Mit Ghamr Center in Dakahlia turned tragic following the arrival of several young men in strange clothing, who began dancing while carrying fire extinguishers and gas cylinders, which residents described to the police as a "devil worshippers' display."
During the celebration, one of the fire extinguishers exploded, rapidly propelled from the hands of the person holding it, and struck two young women who were watching the celebration, resulting in serious injuries, one leading to death, while the other remains in the intensive care unit.
The incident has sparked outrage among the villagers and on social media, with calls for authorities to swiftly apprehend the suspects and prevent such strange and dangerous practices in celebrations.
