Foreign ministers from Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus have urged the new Libyan government to annul the agreements and memorandums of understanding signed between the Government of National Accord and Turkey since 2019.
According to the news site "Africa News Gateway," a joint statement was issued following the meeting of the three countries' foreign ministers yesterday in Athens. The statement confirmed that all agreements made in violation of international law are null and void. The statement also emphasized the rejection of "any foreign intervention in Libya," asserting that it is "unacceptable both in Libya and internationally."
The Turkish Foreign Ministry announced its rejection of the "accusations and allegations directed against our country by the Greek Foreign Minister in the press release issued at the conclusion of the Philia Forum held in Athens."
In response to a question related to the Friendship Forum held in Athens on February 11, which included the foreign ministers of Greece, Egypt, France, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, and the Southern Cyprus administration, Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hami Aksoy stated, "No forum that does not include Turkey, which is pivotal in the region, and the Turkish Cypriots, can establish a successful and effective mechanism for friendship and cooperation regarding the challenges facing the region."
