The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced on Wednesday that an airstrike from "unknown aircraft" targeted sites and weapon warehouses belonging to Iranian militias in the city of Al-Bukamal, west of the Euphrates, near the Syrian-Iraqi border. According to the observatory, the airstrikes resulted in "the destruction of weapons and ammunition warehouses, causing massive explosions that were heard in Al-Baghuz, located on the other side of the Euphrates River, under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)." The observatory confirmed that it obtained "reliable information about human casualties" following the airstrike. On Tuesday, the observatory reported that plumes of smoke rose from areas controlled by Iranian-affiliated militias near the Syrian-Iraqi border, coinciding with the flight of "unknown" drones. The Syrian Observatory indicated that "unknown" drones have increased their attacks targeting Iranian militias and those affiliated with them near and at the Syrian-Iraqi border in the area west of the Euphrates, which has become akin to an "Iranian protected area or colony" on Syrian territory, according to the observatory's description.
