An Egyptian young man filed a lawsuit in the Family Court in New Egypt, requesting to divorce his wife. He justified his request by stating, "Since the day of the wedding, my wife does not care about her appearance in front of me. Every day I wake up before she changes her look with makeup." The man added that he met her through photos on Facebook and found that her appearance was completely different from the images. He stated in his lawsuit, numbered 140 for the year 2020, against his wife: "The makeup and filters on social media completely changed her."
The husband recounted the early moments of their marriage: "I spent strange days with her; since the wedding night, I found her to be a completely different person from the one I saw in her photos and got engaged to." He stated, "I see her before she has a chance to apply anything on her face or style her hair, so I felt deceived." Consequently, he decided to separate from her by all means.
Regarding the day he decided to seek separation, he clarified, "Our marriage lasted only a month. I could not tolerate living with her and her strange ways. My wife uses various types of makeup to alter her unusual features, and she indeed does this and deceives me."
The husband indicated that he tried to deceive himself and please her, but he kept reminding himself, "I constantly see her when she wakes up with messy hair, and her appearance is completely different from the one I married based on that." However, he persisted in seeking a divorce, but the wife refused. Therefore, he turned to the Family Court and filed a lawsuit requesting her divorce for harm, which bears the number 284 for the year 2020 and is still pending.
