Britain: Negotiating a Free Trade Agreement with the Gulf Cooperation Council

British Investment Minister Gerry Grimstone revealed on Monday that the country is negotiating a free trade agreement with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Grimstone mentioned at a conference that the agreement is expected to be finalized within 12 months, as reported by Reuters. A British government website indicated that the GCC countries are already an important trade partner for Britain, with British exports to them amounting to approximately £22 billion, equivalent to $29.57 billion, while trade between both sides exceeded £30 billion in 2020.
