The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity announced on Sunday that a high-voltage electricity transmission line east of Baghdad was subjected to a terrorist act, resulting in damage to one of the power towers. The ministry stated in a press release, "The high-voltage electricity transmission line belonging to the General Company for Electrical Transmission in the Central Region was subjected to a sabotage act, with explosive devices detonated causing damage to tower number (36) and causing it to bend."
It was noted that engineering and technical teams from the General Company arrived at the scene in cooperation with security forces and engineering efforts to work on reconstructing the damaged towers, clearing the line, and restoring it to service as quickly as possible, to continue providing citizens with electrical power, as reported by "Al-Sumaria News" website.
