As the Israeli military campaign on Gaza continues, the residents face tragic stories every day. In a new story that emerged on Saturday morning, a Palestinian lost his wife and three of his children due to an Israeli airstrike targeting the area.
A video showed Gaza man Muhammad Al-Hadidi with his only surviving child, who escaped the bombardment in the Al-Shati refugee camp, as he kisses the child's hands while the baby continuously cries. The camp also witnessed a massacre in which ten members of a single Palestinian family lost their lives; eight children and two women from the Abu Hatab family were killed after a three-story building collapsed following an Israeli strike, according to medical sources quoted by Agence France-Presse.
Local media circulated horrific images showing the bodies of children lying on the ground wrapped in white shrouds. Other footage appeared to show a family member or a relative weeping over the corpses. This massacre comes as Gaza enters its sixth day of intense Israeli bombardment, which is also met with rocket fire launched by Hamas towards Israeli cities.
The Israeli air force renewed its airstrikes early today despite intense efforts by American and Arab diplomats to end the violence. Meanwhile, the toll of Palestinian victims who have fallen since last Monday due to the sweeping bombardments on Gaza has risen to at least 132 individuals, including 32 children and 20 women, while 950 others have been injured, according to Palestinian medical officials reported to Reuters today (Saturday).
