Egyptian security forces were able to find the body of the wife of a hostage-taker in Al-Fayyum province, central Egypt, on Friday, after he confessed to murdering her prior to the hostage incident. Previously, the security forces had managed to rescue several hostages whom Ayman Abdel-Maboud, known as "Al-Fayyum Line" and "Al-Fayyum Bully," had held for 30 hours, during which he tortured them.
During the investigation, "Al-Fayyum Line" admitted that he committed the crime out of suspicion regarding his wife's behavior. He also acknowledged killing his wife's mother during the period of detention and throwing her from the second floor into the yard. It was revealed that Abdel-Maboud had killed his wife over two months ago and buried her body in their home.
The Egyptian Interior Ministry stated that information confirmed that he killed his wife at the beginning of September and buried her in his residence. Upon searching the house, it was found that the wife’s body was buried at a depth of 4 meters in one of the rooms, leading to the public prosecution being notified to investigate and take the necessary legal action.
The hostage-taking incident in Al-Fayyum ended early Thursday. It was found that Ayman Abdel-Maboud had held his son, his wife's mother, his wife's two daughters, his sister-in-law along with her daughter, a relative who works in a company, and a friend who owns a mobile phone shop. He reported that he released the employee and his friend, the mobile shop owner, after injuring one of them with a gunshot, necessitating hospitalization.
The situation escalated when a report was made to the Al-Fayyum police station by local residents about an individual holding several family members and others hostage in the Abdo Square area. It was revealed that his name is Ayman, aged 44, unemployed, and previously accused in cases related to weapons, extortion, attempted murder, arson, discharging firearms, murder, and brawling.
