The Security Media Cell in Iraq announced today, Sunday, the arrest of one of the largest document forgers in Basra Province, 550 kilometers south of Baghdad. The cell stated in a post on its Facebook account that the National Security Agency in Basra, after obtaining judicial approvals, managed to set a tight ambush that resulted in the capture of one of the major document forgers caught in the act.
It noted that 350 stamps belonging to state institutions and in the names of individuals with administrative positions were seized from his home, along with dozens of forged documents including arrest warrants, real estate deeds, birth and death certificates, official documents, marriage contracts, financial cheques, notification letters from notaries, general and special powers of attorney, and hospital admission and discharge certificates.
It emphasized that he was referred to the relevant legal authorities to take necessary actions against him.
