Two fishermen managed to capture a giant sunfish on camera while on a kayaking trip off the coast of California. German, one of the fishermen, stated that the fish measured between 9 to 10 feet, according to the British newspaper "Daily Star." He explained, "It's hard to compare a sunfish to other sea creatures because it looks very strange; it resembles a deformed shark bitten in the middle. I've seen many of these fish over the years, but this one was the largest." According to the Guinness World Records, the largest bony fish in the world by weight was a sunfish caught in 1996 off Kamogawa, Japan, which weighed 2,300 kilograms and measured 8 feet 11 inches in length.
