Al-Halani Reveals His Real Name... And Why He Chose the Name "Aasi"

The artist Aasi Al-Halani stated that his real name is Mohamed, adding that he prefers this name, especially as it is linked to his family. In an interview with journalist Wafa Al-Kilani on the program "Al-Seerah," aired on DMC Channel on Thursday, he mentioned that musician Simon Asmar was the reason for changing his name. He continued that he chose the name "Aasi" after Simon Asmar suggested changing his name, and while walking home, he learned about the death of Lebanese musician "Aasi Rahbani," which led him to decide on the name "Aasi." He revealed that he presented folklore at the beginning of his artistic career because it is unique and not many contestants perform it.
