The North Cairo Criminal Court sentenced doctor Michael Fahmy to life imprisonment in the case of sexually assaulting six girls, while acquitting his wife Sally of the charges.
In detail, the Public Prosecution had ordered the prosecution of doctor Michael Fahmy and his wife for abducting six girls through deception, exploiting their young age, and luring them to his home and private clinic. He assaulted them sexually by falsely claiming they needed special treatment and examination to complete his crime.
The Public Prosecution also stated that the doctor’s wife participated in the crimes by agreeing and assisting him, as she was present during his meetings with some of the victims and their families, reassuring them about the accused and his treatment methods, which enabled him to be alone with them and commit the offenses.
The prosecution indicated that it had established evidence against the accused and his wife through the testimonies of twelve witnesses, which the accused admitted during investigations. The prosecution also noted that the search conducted at the accused's residence matched the descriptions provided by the victims and one witness in the investigations. During the search, the prosecution found written messages from the victims and CDs containing sexual clips related to the crimes committed by the accused.
The accusations were confirmed through examinations of the defendants' computers and phones, which contained conversations, audio and video recordings, and images. Furthermore, it was established by the National Library and Archives that the accused authored a booklet containing claims made to the victims that were contrary to the truth. Additionally, it was confirmed by the Medical Syndicate and the Free Treatment Administration that the accused had no registered academic qualifications or licensed medical practice, nor was there any evidence of a permitted clinic.
