Media reports indicated the death of a person by police gunfire in Ohio. The deceased was identified as Ma'Khia Bryant, and her family stated that they had called the police for help after a fight broke out between girls near their home. According to the victim's aunt, the girl was living in a foster home and had been in a dispute with a family member. Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther mentioned that the police officer who fired the shot aimed to protect another girl from being stabbed. This incident coincided with a jury in Minneapolis, Minnesota, delivering a guilty verdict against officer Derek Chauvin (45) in the murder case of George Floyd (46) last year.
