The famous French newspaper "Le Parisien" reported that French security authorities have thwarted a coup attempt led by a far-right politician. According to the newspaper, French intelligence announced that they disrupted a "coup attempt" in 2021 by former deputy Rémi Daillère of the "Democratic Movement Party" by forming a "terrorist network" comprising current and retired police, gendarmerie, and military officers.
The report indicated that Rémi Daillère, who was arrested on suspicion of organizing attacks on vaccination centers against the coronavirus, planned the coup by forming a large "terrorist network" across France, which French intelligence successfully disrupted. The newspaper noted that "current and retired officers from the police, gendarmerie, and military were part of the network, along with elements from abroad, including an officer awarded the French Merit Medal as the head of the military wing of the mentioned movement."
The website "France TV Info" revealed that Daillère referred to his "secret" plan as "Operation Azure," noting that it was "highly organized." It added, citing a source "close to the file," that the idea for the plan originated about a year ago, during a time when France was battling a health crisis due to the effects of the coronavirus. The report continued: "Daillère was leading Operation Azure from his home in Malaysia, where he gathered a secret organization comprising dozens of people to participate in his project." It was indicated that the organization included both "civilians and military personnel with access to real weapons and a recruitment plan, led by two soldiers from the French army." Furthermore, it was mentioned that "Operation Azure was concerning, although no specific date for the coup had been determined."
