Barcelona Makes Champions League Mission Difficult with Goalless Draw Against Benfica

A goalless draw overshadowed the match between Spanish side Barcelona and Portuguese team Benfica on Tuesday, in the fifth round of Group D in the UEFA Champions League. Neither team managed to score throughout the 90 minutes of the match held at the "Camp Nou" stadium in Barcelona.

Barcelona's points increased to seven, placing them second, two points ahead of Benfica in third place. Barcelona will need to win against their host Bayern Munich in the sixth and final round, or draw, while hoping Benfica loses or draws against their hosts Dynamo Kyiv in the upcoming round.

Bayern Munich, who lead the standings, secured their top position by defeating Dynamo Kyiv 2-1 earlier on Tuesday in the same round of Group D. Bayern Munich's goals were scored by Robert Lewandowski and Kingsley Coman in the 14th and 42nd minutes, while Dynamo Kyiv's goal came from Denys Harmash in the 70th minute. Bayern Munich now has 15 points at the top of the rankings, having already secured their qualification for the Round of 16, while Dynamo Kyiv's points remain at one, placing them fourth.
