The statement indicated that "the ministers discussed developments in Afghanistan and other regional issues, including the concern stemming from the recent Houthi attack on the Saudi city of Abha, which resulted in the injury of at least eight civilians." Blinken expressed "the United States' strong commitment to its long-standing strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia, and to helping the kingdom defend its people and its territory."
