The Algerian national team is closer to reaching the World Cup finals in Qatar 2022 after winning against their host, Cameroon, 1-0, on Friday, in the first leg of the African playoff qualifiers for the World Cup. Islam Slimani scored the only goal of the match for Algeria in the 40th minute. The return match will be held next Tuesday in Algeria.
