Aguero's Surprising Health Scare: A New "Eriksen" Haunting Camp Nou

Aguero's Surprising Health Scare: A New

In an incident that raised concerns among football fans worldwide, Barcelona striker Sergio Aguero was taken to the hospital after complaining of chest pain during his team's match against Deportivo Alavés in La Liga on Saturday. The 33-year-old Argentine player had to leave the game just minutes after receiving first aid on the pitch at Camp Nou, where he was seen holding his hand to his chest. Aguero was promptly transported to the hospital by ambulance for precautionary heart examinations.

Barcelona, which signed the player last summer from Manchester City, tweeted, "Aguero reported chest pain and was taken to the hospital for heart examinations."

Manchester City also sent a message of support to their former player saying, "Everyone at Manchester City wishes you a speedy recovery, Aguero. We are with you."

The scene brought to mind the tragedy of Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, who suffered a cardiac arrest during a match in the European Championship last summer and collapsed on the field in a horrifying moment. On Friday, Inter Milan stated in a press release that Eriksen (29) would not be able to play in Italy for the current season, expressing a willingness to sell the player. Eriksen recovered after being saved on the pitch with the help of his teammates and medical staff before being transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated with an implanted device to regulate his heartbeat.
