Unusually high temperatures have led to the drying up of the sources of the British River Thames for the first time in history, according to the Guardian newspaper. The paper quoted Rob Collins, Director of Science at the Rivers Trust, stating that "after a long period of dry weather, the sources of the River Thames in Gloucestershire have dried up, and the weak flow is now barely visible over five miles from the mouth."
