More than 20 people, including residents and staff of a nursing home in northeastern Arkansas, were trapped on Friday after a tornado struck, resulting in two fatalities and five injuries. According to KAIT, an NBC-affiliated television station, the tornado that hit the nursing home in Monette was part of a series of tornadoes in the region. The station reported that an official confirmed two people had died, five were injured, and at least 20 were trapped in the facility, which has 86 beds. The National Weather Service issued tornado warnings late Friday across several states, including Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, and Illinois, as reported by Reuters. Wind speeds exceeded 110 kilometers per hour in parts of St. Charles and St. Louis counties in Missouri, according to the Associated Press. At least three residents from St. Charles County were hospitalized, and several homes were damaged in the area near Augusta, Missouri.
