The artist Hani Shakir held a concert as part of the "Nights of Authentic Arts" events in Riyadh Season, Saudi Arabia. In front of a large audience at the Mohammed Abdu Arena, Hani Shakir chose to open his concert with the song "I Swear by Its Sky and Its Soil" by the late Abdel Halim Hafez. Under the direction of maestro Amir Abdel Meguid, Hani Shakir performed several of his famous songs, including "I Love You," "I Wish," and "If I Went Far Away," among others. Joining Hani Shakir in the "Nights of Authentic Arts" were Mai Farouk, who performed a duet with him for the song "Tell Me What Your Heart Has Done" by Mohammed Abdel Wahab, and artist Mohamed Mohsen. Hani Shakir's participation in Riyadh Season sparked wide debate among some artists following the participation of festival singers, which prevented them from performing in Egypt.
