It seems that the week of Argentine star Lionel Messi, the Paris Saint-Germain player who won the Ballon d'Or for the seventh time, has ended badly and is costly. Messi received an order from a court in Barcelona to demolish his four-star hotel, according to the British newspaper "Mirror."
According to the demolition order, the hotel, which has 77 rooms, "does not meet the standards required by the Spanish city." The "MiM Sitges" hotel is located near the home where Messi lived before moving from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain last summer.
The British newspaper noted that Messi, who owns hotels in Mallorca and Ibiza, purchased the Barcelona hotel for an amount equivalent to £26 million, without knowing about the demolition order issued due to violations of construction laws. Among the violations recorded on the hotel are the excessively large balconies, and the fire and emergency systems do not meet Spanish authorities' requirements. In addition to these violations, the hotel contains large tanks that collect dirty water from the bathrooms and filter it for reuse in irrigation and within toilets.
