Essam El-Hadary, the goalkeeper coach for the Egyptian national team, and Wael Gomaa, the team manager, intervened to put an end to the altercation between the two teams. The match also saw injuries to two players from the Egyptian side: goalkeeper Mohamed Abu Gabal and defender Ahmed Hegazi, who both suffered hamstring strains. Egypt is set to face Cameroon next Thursday at 9 PM in the semifinals of the Africa Cup of Nations.
