U.S. State Department: Washington Conditions Some Military Aid to Egypt on Human Rights Steps

A spokesperson for the U.S. State Department said on Tuesday that President Joe Biden's administration would provide military assistance to Egypt amounting to $130 million if the country takes specific actions regarding human rights. The spokesperson stated in an emailed statement that Secretary of State Antony Blinken "will move forward with the $130 million if the Egyptian government positively addresses certain human rights conditions."
