Abdollahiyan After His Appointment as Iran's Foreign Minister: Neighboring Countries Will Be a Top Priority During My Term

Iran's new Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahiyan, reaffirmed that "Tehran is determined to adopt a balanced foreign policy," noting that "neighboring countries will be at the forefront of priorities during his tenure." In a tweet following his confirmation by the parliament with 270 votes in favor, Abdollahiyan stated, "I am proud that with the trust of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, I have become a representative of the great Iranian people in foreign policy and international relations." He added, "We are committed to a balanced, proactive, and intelligent foreign policy based on the principles of dignity, wisdom, and interest." He emphasized that "neighboring countries and Asian nations will be the primary focus during his time in office."
