Britain will allow residents in England to resume international travel starting from May 17, but it has limited the number of open holiday destinations that do not require quarantine to a few countries, as the country cautiously emerges from lockdown restrictions. Transport Secretary Grant Shapps stated that Portugal, Israel, New Zealand, Australia, and Singapore comprise the green travel list, which will be reviewed every three weeks. Notably excluded from the list are Spain, France, Italy, and the United States, which were the most visited countries by Britons in 2019, and returning from these destinations still requires self-isolation in the UK.
