A statement issued by the Qatari Emir's Diwan on Thursday announced that the Emir of Qatar has dismissed the Finance Minister from his position. The Amiri order published by the official agency stated, "Mr. Ali Sharif Al-Emadi, Finance Minister, is relieved of his position, and His Excellency Mr. Ali bin Ahmad Al-Kuwari, Minister of Commerce and Industry, in addition to his current duties, is entrusted with the duties of the Finance Minister." Earlier, the Attorney General ordered Al-Emadi's arrest for questioning regarding "crimes related to public office, which involved harming public funds, exploiting his position, and the abuse of power."
