The Algerian national team won the "Maghreb" clash against Morocco with a score of (5-3) in a penalty shootout after the match ended in a (2-2) draw today, Saturday, in the quarter-finals of the 2021 Arab Cup. Algerian player Yassine Brahimi put his country ahead with a goal scored in the 61st minute from a penalty kick. Moroccan player Mohamed Nahiri quickly equalized just two minutes later with a header from a set piece. Algerian star Youssef Belaïli restored the lead for the "Desert Warriors" in the 12th minute of the first period of extra time with a stunning long-range shot "from across the continent." Moroccan defender Badr Benoun equalized again for his country with another header from a set piece in the sixth minute of the second period of extra time, in a match held at Al Thumama Stadium in Doha.
