The U.S. State Department said on Friday that the Iran-aligned Houthi group in Yemen missed a "great opportunity" to show its commitment to peace by refusing to meet with UN envoy Martin Griffiths in Muscat. The department also stated that the militants are contributing to the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Yemen by continuing their attacks on Marib, "which exacerbates the dire conditions of the already vulnerable displaced Yemenis."
