A Spanish news report stated that Barcelona has requested to sign Portuguese player João Félix from Atlético Madrid on loan before the end of the summer transfer window. According to the Catalan radio "RAC1," Barcelona is looking to bolster its attack at the request of coach Ronald Koeman. The report added, "The deal would be at no financial cost to Atlético Madrid, and Barcelona has already sent its offer, awaiting a response tomorrow. Several reports suggest that Atlético will respond with a refusal as they do not intend to let Félix go."
The report also noted that Barcelona had previously gauged Félix's interest during failed negotiations to swap Antoine Griezmann for Saúl in the past, which did not reach an agreement between the two clubs. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed on his Twitter account that Félix will not leave Atlético Madrid, even on loan, as the player wishes to remain with the Rojiblancos. In a separate context, Romano stated that there is no chance for Barcelona to sign Mario Mandžukić on a free transfer.
