Who Won the Oscars?

The film "Nomadland" won the Oscar for Best Picture, and its director, the Chinese-born Chloé Zhao, became the first Asian woman and the second woman ever to win the Oscar for Best Director for the film.

At the moment the announcement of "Nomadland" as Best Picture was made, Chloé Zhao entered Oscar history as the first Asian to win the directing award. Frances McDormand won the Oscar for Best Actress, while Anthony Hopkins took home the Oscar for Best Actor for "The Father." Danish director Thomas Vinterberg won for Best Foreign Film for "Another Round."

Daniel Kaluuya won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, and South Korean Youn Yuh-jung won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. Emerald Fennell received the award for Best Original Screenplay for "Promising Young Woman," and H.E.R. won the Oscar for Best Original Song for "Fight for You" from "Judas and the Black Messiah." The award for Cinematography went to Erik Messerschmidt for "Mank."
