On Tuesday, the Security Media Cell announced the disarming of a bomb that was intended to target security convoys in Babil Governorate.
The cell stated in a communiqué that "through continuous monitoring and intensified field efforts, the security forces succeeded in disarming a bomb on the international highway near Bridge (6) in the Nile area, part of Babil Governorate under the jurisdiction of the Babil Police Directorate." It added that "the explosive device was prepared to target one of the convoys belonging to the Iraqi security forces."
