American reality TV star Kim Kardashian has recently overcome a significant obstacle in her ambition to become an attorney, having previously faced failure in her attempts. Kardashian tweeted on Monday that she passed the first-year law student exam in California, which is held over a full day for those who do not take the traditional route through law school at a university. She wrote on her Twitter account, which has 70.7 million followers, "Oh my God, I passed the exam," adding, "For those who don’t know my journey in studying law... it has not been easy at all."
Kardashian also mentioned that she failed the exam three times before finally passing it, making it her last chance. She is studying law in California through a program that allows students to do so under the supervision of an experienced lawyer or judge, and California is one of the few states with such a program, according to Reuters. By passing this exam, Kardashian will be able to continue her legal studies and apply for the BAR exam to obtain a license to practice law.
The pass rate for the exam Kardashian took on October 26 has not been disclosed yet, but only 21% of those who took the exam in June passed. The California Bar Association stated on Monday that the exam results are confidential and cannot confirm Kardashian's success. Kardashian's father was a lawyer and was part of the defense team for the famous American football player O.J. Simpson, and she has expressed a desire to practice law to work on reforming the criminal justice system. California generally allows students to take the first-year law student exam only three times, but it provided one additional attempt for those who failed the June 2020 exam due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
