Kuwait: State Security Arrests a Cell of Lebanese

Sources informed "Al-Siyasah" that the State Security Agency arrested a group cooperating with Lebanese "Hezbollah" last Thursday, accused of recruiting youth to work with the party in Syria and Yemen. The sources stated that the Ministry of Interior received a security report from a sister country indicating that the group consists of four individuals, one being the son of a former MP, another a brother of a former MP, a third who was previously named in cases since the hijacking of the Kuwait Airways Flight in the 1980s, and a fourth who is said to be a prominent figure in charitable work.

The sources clarified that the State Security Agency is investigating the four: "H. G, J. S, J. J, J. D," on several charges, including money laundering for "Hezbollah" in Kuwait, financing Kuwaiti youth to encourage them to join "Hezbollah," participating in its terrorist activities, and smuggling drugs in both Syria and Yemen.

The sources attributed the visit of Interior Minister Sheikh Thamer Al-Ali to the State Security building last Wednesday to review the investigations and noted that the defendants admitted to collecting donations from mosques without prior permission, indicating that they will be referred to the Public Prosecution once the investigations by the State Security Agency are complete.
