Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez confirmed that without the European Super League, the "royal" club would be unable to sign Erling Haaland or Frenchman Kylian Mbappé. Pérez stated during an interview with Spanish radio Cadena SER: "It is impossible to make signings like Mbappé and Haaland without the European Super League."
He added: "If money does not flow, there will be no big deals, then the value of broadcasting rights will drop, and it will be difficult to sell any player."
Pérez continued: "No club will be able to make big signings in the summer."
He emphasized: "We all, as founding clubs, planned to talk, but the next day we were met with terrifying aggression. They knew what we were going to do, but those who had the privileges were waiting for this moment; we made a mistake."
