Video: Eat and Lose Weight... A Famous Restaurant Replaces Its Seats with Exercise Bikes

A TikTok user named "cris13yu" posted a video showing a popular restaurant in China that resembles a gym, as the restaurant replaced its usual seats with exercise bikes, allowing customers to burn a few calories while eating. The video features a woman sitting at a specially designed table for one, moving her legs while eating a burger. According to ladbible, the footage looks like a scene from any gym, and the TikTok user commented on the video saying: "McDonald's in China... I love the idea."

The video has garnered 32 million views, 2.1 million likes, and thousands of comments, with many social media users praising the concept. However, some acknowledged that it reminded them of Charlie Brooker's dystopian sci-fi series "Black Mirror" and raised concerns about it being harmful for digestion. One commenter noted: "Bad for your digestive system... Don't engage in physical activities while eating; eating requires a state of relaxation for proper digestion."

According to Harvard Health Publishing, Harvard Medical School states that a stationary bike burns an average of 252 calories during half an hour of exercise. It is worth mentioning that traditional seats are also available in the restaurant, meaning you can sit and enjoy your meal as usual without using the exercise bike.
