His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, discussed yesterday with His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the President of Turkey, the bilateral relations and ways to open new avenues for cooperation and joint work between the UAE and Turkey in all areas that serve their mutual interests, in addition to various regional and international issues and developments of concern to both countries.
His Highness stated, through his official Twitter account: "I met today in Ankara with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and we had fruitful discussions focused on opportunities to enhance our economic relations. We look forward to opening new and promising avenues for cooperation and joint work that benefits both countries, fulfilling their mutual interests and aspirations for development and prosperity."
This came during the reception of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the accompanying delegation at the presidential palace in the Turkish capital, Ankara, where President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed His Highness's visit to Turkey as a distinguished guest, expressing his confidence that His Highness's visit paves the way for a new prosperous and promising phase of relations and cooperation that serves the interests of both countries and their peoples, as well as the region.
For his part, His Highness expressed his happiness with the visit to Turkey and his meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, relaying the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and his wishes for continued stability and prosperity for the friendly country and its people.
His Highness and the Turkish President reviewed opportunities to enhance cooperation between the two countries, especially in investment, economic, developmental, and other areas that drive development and progress in both countries. The two sides also exchanged views on several issues and developments in the Middle East, emphasizing in this context the importance of strengthening the pillars of security, peace, and stability, which are the fundamental basis for launching development and building towards the prosperous future that the peoples of the region aspire to.
