A woman walking her dog thought she had found human remains and sent a picture to security forces, believing what she saw was a human foot.
This prompted the police to send a team of experts and police dogs to search the muddy field near the village of Winlaton in northeast England. Northumbria Police stated that after inspecting the area, they discovered "the toe was just a potato with a mushroom growing beside it." A police spokesperson said, "We can only praise the woman’s keen observation in reporting this to us," and encouraged anyone who comes across potential human remains to do the same, adding, "If it turns out to be just vegetables, our police dogs will be grateful to you."
