The Moroccan national team scored the first goals for Arab teams participating in the 33rd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, hosted by Cameroon from January 9 to February 6. Moroccan player Sofiane Boufal scored the first Arab goal in the current continental tournament in the 83rd minute of the match against Ghana, which ended with the "Atlas Lions" winning 1-0. This edition of the Africa Cup features seven Arab teams for the first time in the tournament's history, including Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Sudan, Mauritania, and Comoros.
