Saudi authorities arrested individuals who deliberately caused a traffic collision on a highway in Mecca. The spokesperson for the Mecca Region Police stated that following a video circulating on social media, which documented an individual colliding with another vehicle, the traffic department of the holy city commenced an investigation into the incident on 2/5/1443 AH and took initial legal procedures at that time. After the video spread, further inquiries were conducted, and the parties involved—two Saudis and one resident of Yemeni nationality—were summoned by the holy city's traffic department for questioning. It was confirmed that the incident was staged by agreement among them. They were referred to the police due to criminal cases involving intentional collision, insurance fraud, and a cybercrime for documenting and disseminating the video. Initial legal actions were taken against them, and they were referred to the public prosecution in the region, according to Okaz newspaper.
