On Saturday afternoon, the head of the Lawyers Syndicate in Egypt, Regai Attia, passed away after suffering a health crisis during a trial session for lawyers before the Imbaba Criminal Court. The assistant secretary-general of the Lawyers Syndicate, Abu Bakr Dowa, announced that the head of the syndicate had suffered a sudden heart attack during the hearing. According to circulating reports, the 84-year-old head of the Lawyers Syndicate and President of the Arab Lawyers Union collapsed while at the South Giza Court for a case involving lawyers from North Giza and was transported by ambulance to the hospital. Attia was born in 1938 in Shebin al-Kom, Monufia Governorate in Egypt, and has been leading the Egyptian Lawyers Syndicate since 2020.
