Saudi Doctor Removes Tumor from Fetal Heart in American Hospital

A surgical medical team led by a Saudi doctor successfully performed a surgical removal of a cancerous tumor from the heart of a fetus in the womb of its mother when the fetus was five months old. Dr. Hani Najm, head of the pediatric and adult cardiac surgery department at Cleveland Clinic, stated that he was able to surgically remove the tumor from the heart of the fetus and return it to the womb to continue its development until birth, with the assistance of the fetal surgery team at Cleveland Clinic. The doctor shared a video on his Twitter account showing a simulation of the surgery he performed on the fetus when it was five months old. The clinic noted that the surgery was successful, and the fetus continued to grow, ultimately leading to a delivery where it was confirmed that the baby is in good health.
